Danish youth international with Ghanaian roots, Michael Opoku, has finalized a transfer to Norwegian Eliteserien club Sarpsborg 08.
The forward signs a permanent deal with the club for the 2025/26 season, strengthening the squad’s options for the second half of the campaign.
Opoku has signed a contract running until June 2028. The 20-year-old, who has played for Denmark at various youth levels, comes from Danish club FC Lyngby, where he rose through the ranks and earned recognition as a technically skilled and versatile player.

Opoku is recognized for his calmness on the ball, smart positioning, and skill in connecting play between defense and attack, often operating on the left wing.
Sarpsborg 08 views the signing as a key part of their long-term plan to focus on young, high-potential players who can contribute right away while continuing to grow in the competitive Norwegian league.
Last season, the youngster scored four goals in 10 starts for Lyngby in the Danish top flight.
Opoku, although he has played for Denmark at the youth level, remains eligible to represent Ghana in the future.
