Cocoa Capital Plc — The Historic GH¢16.3 Billion Listing
One of the largest stories driving capital market discussions is the formal admission of Cocoa Capital Plc to the Ghana Stock Exchange.
The Structure: A wholly owned special purpose vehicle of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Cocoa Capital launched a historic GH¢16.30 billion bond and commercial paper programme.
The Issuance: The exchange officially admitted Series 01 Tranche 01 of its 266-day Senior Unsecured Fixed Rate Commercial Paper. This landmark issuance raised GH¢3.39 billion locally.
The Takeaway: This is a tectonic shift in cocoa financing. COCOBOD is intentionally shifting away from expensive offshore dollar syndications to tap into domestic cedi liquidity. This protects the national currency and creates high-yield fixed-income assets locally.
