Since 2006, Delta has played a key role in connecting Ghana to the world, transporting over 7.5 million passengers across its African routes. With this latest addition, the airline will operate two direct routes to Accra: the year-round daily New York-JFK service and the new Atlanta flights, enhancing travel flexibility for Ghanaian passengers.
Matteo Curcio, Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, emphasized the airline’s focus on connectivity.
“We know how important it is for families and friends to stay connected, and this additional flight ensures that more Ghanaians can easily reach their loved ones while enjoying world-class service.”

The Accra-Atlanta route will be serviced by Delta’s modern Airbus A330-900neo, a customer-favorite aircraft already in operation on the New York-Accra route. Featuring Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating, the A330-900neo promises superior comfort, cutting-edge in-flight entertainment, and an enhanced travel experience.
Delta’s Atlanta hub, one of the world’s largest airports, offers seamless connections to over 215 destinations, including major U.S. cities like Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Houston. This expansion will facilitate both business and leisure travel, reinforcing Ghana’s accessibility to global markets.
Additionally, Delta is further broadening its African reach with the launch of its first-ever nonstop Atlanta-Marrakech flight on October 25, 2025, positioning itself as a key player in Africa’s aviation sector.
Delta continues to enhance its Atlanta hub with infrastructure upgrades aimed at elevating the customer experience. It will provide a new 24,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club on Concourse D, featuring premium amenities and panoramic views, upgrades to Sky Clubs on Concourses A and C to enhance comfort, convenience and expansion of Concourse D to improve passenger flow and increase gate capacity, implementation of Delta Digital ID, allowing eligible travelers to pass through security and baggage drop without physical identification, and expansion of free Wi-Fi on international routes, including West African destinations like Lagos, Dakar, and Accra, in the coming weeks.
With these enhancements and expanded flight options, Delta is reaffirming its dominance in the Ghana-U.S. travel market. By integrating advanced technology, superior in-flight services, and strategic global connectivity, Delta continues to position itself as the premier airline of choice for Ghanaian travelers.
As Delta strengthens its African footprint, the Accra-Atlanta route is set to bolster economic and cultural exchanges, further solidifying Ghana’s role as a key aviation hub in West Africa.
