“As President of Rugby Africa, I’m going to my board — I’m also on the Council for World Rugby — that Ghana should be considered as a place where we should be staging world competitions if we can keep the maintenance up. If we can bring World Rugby competitions here, at least two or perhaps three,” he stated.

He emphasised that maintaining the facility to international standards would be key to attracting global tournaments.

Government Investment Praised

Mensah commended the Ghanaian government for its investment in sports infrastructure, noting that off-field development is essential to achieving on-field success.

“In sports, if you want results, you need to invest off the field to achieve on the field,” he said, adding that such facilities would elevate Ghana’s profile across Africa and beyond.

African Games Boost

Ghana is hosting the African Games for the first time, welcoming more than 5,000 athletes from over 54 countries competing in multiple disciplines.
