The beverage manufacturer’s offer was oversubscribed by 146% as pension funds and individual investors using digital platforms poured capital into one of Ghana’s most successful public offerings.
More than 360 pension funds and institutional investors, together with over 30,000 individual retail investors, pooled their financial weight to deliver a historic GH¢1.72 billion bid for Kasapreko PLC’s initial public offering, oversubscribing the beverage manufacturer’s target by 146 percent.
The massive deluge of capital more than doubled the indigenous manufacturer’s original target raise of GH¢700 million. The offer, which issued 583.3 million ordinary shares at GH¢1.20 per share, achieved a subscription level of roughly 246 percent, firmly establishing the transaction as one of the most successful public offerings in recent Ghanaian capital market history.

The offer was launched to fund the company’s next phase of expansion, including the construction of a state-of-the-art production facility focused on scaling up capacity in bottled water and carbonated soft drinks.
Market analysts attribute the exceptional investor interest to Kasapreko’s resilient brand portfolio, consistent growth trajectory, expanding West African export footprint, and attractive valuation relative to peer beverage companies. Over the past five years, the company has scaled dramatically, establishing itself as a premier indigenous manufacturer and exporter.
According to a report by Accra Street Journal, the participation of over 30,000 individual investors, many utilising modern digital investment platforms, highlights a democratised, widespread appetite for equity investments on the Ghana Stock Exchange. Due to the massive oversubscription, the Board of Directors of Kasapreko allotted shares to qualified applicants on a pro rata basis to ensure equitable distribution.
The IPO’s success reflects a profound renewal of confidence in homegrown Ghanaian businesses. While the 360-plus pension funds provided deep institutional backing, the sheer number of retail participants signals that ordinary Ghanaians are increasingly willing to back local companies with strong growth prospects.
Official trading in Kasapreko PLC shares is scheduled to commence on 15 June 2026 under the ticker symbol KASA. From that date, investors looking to acquire additional shares, as well as secondary market shareholders wishing to liquidate, will be able to trade freely through licensed stockbrokers on the GSE floor. Backed by a strengthened capital base and a large new community of local stakeholders, Kasapreko’s management is well-positioned to accelerate its long-term regional growth agenda.
