Ghana FA Issues Charges Against Hearts of Oak and Coach Aboubakar Ouattara—–The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Hearts of Oak and coach Aboubakar Ouattara with violations of Articles 38(8)(a) and 34(6)(d) of the 2019 Ghana Premier League Regulations.

The charges were for failure to comply with post-match media obligations following their narrow defeat in the league match against Dreams FC on Saturday.

The Phobians suffered a 1-0 loss to Dreams at the University of Ghana Stadium with the only goal of the match coming from 18-year-old Abdul Razak Salifu.

According to the GFA, Hearts did not present their head coach for the post-match press conference, which is required by the rules of the league.

Further, it is alleged that Ouattara deliberately stayed away from the press conference, an action deemed as misconduct that brings shame to the game.

Press conferences are an important part of professional football, providing teams with the opportunity to talk to supporters, answer media queries, and be open in the sport.

By not attending the mandatory session, Hearts and Ouattara could have violated key tenets of professionalism and sportsmanship.

The club and coach have until Tuesday, March 18, 2025, to respond to the accusations.

The ruling in this matter could be a major precedent for league rule compliance and discipline in Ghanaian football.
