The Young Investors Network (YIN) is stepping up its nationwide campaign to promote financial literacy. The goal is to provide Ghana’s youth with the knowledge and skills to engage in the stock market confidently while empowering them to make smart investment choices..
At the Investment Education Summit, Executive Director Joshua Mensah highlighted that the initiative emphasizes practical investment training, aimed at students, young professionals, and artisans.
In collaboration with the Ghana Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Depository, we’ve visited nearly ten regions, connecting with senior high schools, tertiary institutions, and professionals. Our initiatives, such as the National Investment Quiz Competition and the Young Investors Analyst Programme, are motivating young people to begin investing in shares and building wealth,” Mr. Mensah said.

The Young Investors Analyst Programme, already attracting over 800 applicants, offers hands-on stock market simulation exercises. Joshua Mensah added that many students are now purchasing shares, including MTN stocks, as a direct result of the education outreach.
Jerry Boachie-Danquah, the Head of Marketing and PR at the Ghana Stock Exchange, called the initiative a crucial move in equipping the next generation for financial independence.
“For the past three years, we’ve reached 195 schools and nearly 120,000 students. We teach investment fundamentals, risk management, and how to engage licensed institutions, ensuring young people can make sound financial choices.”

Ahn-zim Wusa Manga, Brand and Communications Officer at the Central Securities Depository, stressed the importance of early engagement in the capital market.
“You don’t need huge sums to invest. Even small amounts can grow over time. The key is starting early and building steadily.”
The Young Investors Network aims to extend the program to reach more regions, with future editions designed for artisans, entrepreneurs, teachers, and other professionals. The organizers hope to build a financially literate generation that can drive sustainable economic growth in Ghana.
