ADB Targets Top 3 Bank Status in Ghana with Ambitious Transformation Plan

Accra, Ghana – The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC has announced an ambitious strategic vision aimed at positioning itself among the top three banks in Ghana while earning global recognition as an institution admired for innovation, resilience, and people-centered service delivery.

This bold roadmap was unveiled during the first official meeting of ADB’s newly inaugurated Board of Directors at the bank’s head office in Accra on Wednesday, July 15, 2025.

According to Accra News Journal, sighted by Accra Business News Managing Director Edward Ato Sarpong emphasized that the bank is not only seeking market share but a complete cultural transformation guided by the core principles of relevance, resilience, and responsibility. “ADB is evolving beyond banking — becoming a development partner that supports national growth,” Sarpong noted.

The bank’s new tagline, “Beyond Banking…”, encapsulates this transformation, highlighting a shift from purely transactional operations to holistic value creation.

The board meeting also served to align leadership and execution. Board Chairman Kenneth Kwamina Thompson will steer the new direction alongside a team of high-level professionals including Kofi Attoh, Seth Adjei-Baah, Diana Boakye-Appiah, Mrs. Naa Adorkor Commodore, Dr. William Amoah, Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Obed Boamah Akwa, Nana Akwasi Agyeman, and Joseph Aidoo.
