Under the theme, “The Future of Real Estate Begins Here – Connecting Buyers, Sellers, Renters, and Investors Through Technology,” the platform has been developed to address long-standing challenges within Ghana’s real estate market, including access to verified property listings, market visibility, transparency, and seamless connections between buyers and sellers .

For many Ghanaians, searching for a home, office space, land, or investment property has often been a frustrating experience. Likewise, property owners, developers, and estate professionals have had to navigate the challenge of reaching the right audience in an increasingly competitive market. The GhanaWeb Real Estate Platform seeks to change that by creating a trusted, technology-powered ecosystem where buyers, sellers, renters, developers, real estate agents, and investors can interact with confidence .

GhanaWeb’s entry into the property space comes with significant advantages. The digital news portal, founded in 1999, has become the most popular news website in Ghana and attracts approximately five million unique visitors monthly . According to CEO David Antwi, the platform is widely trusted among Ghanaians for credible news, with a strong following both domestically and among the diaspora in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and other countries .

The self-service portal allows property owners to create an account, access a dashboard, and submit listings with photos, location details, and descriptions. The platform covers houses, apartments, land, townhouses, offices, commercial spaces, warehouses, shops, guest houses, retail, beachhouses, and hotels — for sale, for rent, and short-stay .

GhanaWeb has previously ventured into the property space through a partnership with meQasa in 2018, and the new platform represents a direct foray into the listings market . The portal went live in a soft launch phase on March 18, 2026, with the official launch event serving to introduce the platform to industry stakeholders .

However, the platform arrives in a market with persistent trust challenges. Fake listings, mismatched property photos, agents who collect viewing fees and disappear, and landlords demanding illegal advance rent have long plagued Ghana’s property portal space . Industry observers note that while GhanaWeb has the audience and infrastructure to build something genuinely better, the absence of a visible verification mechanism—such as agent badges tied to the Real Estate Agency Council or title verification status—means the platform currently functions as a discovery tool rather than a vetted marketplace .

The official ceremony will commence with registration, welcome coffee, and networking at 9:00 a.m., followed by the launch ceremony at 10:00 a.m. . For those unable to attend physically, the launch will be broadcast LIVE on GhanaWeb TV, allowing audiences across Ghana and beyond to experience the unveiling in real time .

With Ghana’s property market continuing to evolve, the GhanaWeb Real Estate Platform is poised to become a significant addition to the country’s digital property landscape. As CEO David Antwi noted at the 2025 GhanaWeb Excellence Awards, the platform is part of the organisation’s broader expansion beyond news aggregation into original content and digital services .
