GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited has denied media reports claiming the Aboso Glass Factory in Aboso in the Western Region, has been sold for GH₵8 million.
The Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Kofi Jumah, assured the public that the company which assumed control of the factory in 2019, has no plans to sell the facility. Instead, he said the company is focused on revitalizing the factory, with operations expected to restart by 2025.

Mr. Jumah criticized the reports as false and misleading, urging the public to dismiss such rumors. He described the claims of a sale as “baseless and misleading,” emphasizing the company’s focus on upgrading the factory’s infrastructure and operational capabilities.
“One report suggested we sold Aboso for 8 million cedis; that’s simply not true. We are dedicated to developing this significant industrial asset and have invested considerable resources and time towards this goal,” Jumah stated.

He highlighted GIHOC’s dedication to enhancing the factory’s infrastructure and operational efficiency, emphasizing the significant resources and time invested in the project.
