Otumfuo Osei Tutu II visits KATH to assess progress on the Heal Komfo Anokye Project [+ Pictures]

The Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, has visited the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to assess the progress of infrastructural renovations in the Phase 1 of the Heal KATH Project, as part of his 25th Anniversary Legacy Projects.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu’s visit underscores his commitment to enhancing healthcare in the Ashanti Region.

He led the launching of the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” in November last year, which aimed to renovate and improve the hospital’s infrastructure and healthcare services.

The initiative seeks to raise $10 million through public fundraising for the renovation of the hospital’s 70-year-old in-patient wards.

The renovation became necessary after portions of the hospital building developed structural defects, including damaged ceilings, deteriorated tiling, and poor ward conditions.

The facility, originally built with a 500-bed capacity, has experienced significant wear and tear over the years.
