Police authorities in Tema have confirmed the arrest of two individuals suspected to be involved in a recent murder case that has unsettled the local community. The arrests come after swift investigative efforts, with law enforcement promising a thorough probe as the case unfolds.

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the suspected murder of a man whose body was discovered within the Tema Harbour area in the Greater Accra Region.

The arrest comes after a distress call was made to the Tema Regional Police Command on Friday, 30 May 2025, reporting the presence of a lifeless male body at the harbour enclave.

In a statement issued on Sunday, 1 June, police said that while officers were examining the scene, they were alerted to a separate incident involving a man allegedly found with a human head.

Officers responded swiftly and rescued the individual, later identified as Ali Mustapha, from members of the public who had apprehended him. He was immediately taken into custody.

Further investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, Zakaria Mohammed.

The remains of the unidentified victim have since been transferred to the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Both suspects are being held in custody as investigations continue, with efforts underway to determine the identity of the deceased.
