The Ghana Immigration Service Rugby Team has taken an important step towards building a stronger and more competitive side following its first training session at James Town Park.
The session, led by Percy Adamson and assisted by Mr Eric Sowa, brought together 16 participants, including 13 men and three ladies, who were taken through the fundamentals of rugby.
Players were introduced to key aspects of the game, including ball handling, passing and catching, running forward with the ball and the basic rugby principle of passing backwards.

The training also focused on improving coordination, confidence, discipline and teamwork as the participants begin their journey towards forming a competitive Ghana Immigration Service Rugby Team.
A major highlight of the session was the return of AICO II Christopher Adjei Mensah of the Greater Accra Regional Office, IPES Unit.
Adjei Mensah, a former player of Dansoman Hurricanes Rugby Club, had put his rugby career on hold after joining the Ghana Immigration Service. His return to the field provides an opportunity for him to bring his previous experience and passion for rugby to the Service.
The maiden training session represents a significant step in the Service’s efforts to develop a disciplined and competitive rugby team while promoting teamwork and physical fitness among its personnel.
With continued training and commitment, the Ghana Immigration Service Rugby Team will be hoping to build a solid foundation and establish itself as a force in Ghanaian rugby.
One team. One goal. One Service. 🇬🇭🏉
