From delivery bike flipping to content creation monetized in GHC, these modern hustles are reshaping Ghana’s economy — and many didn’t exist before 2020.

Ghana’s hustle culture has always been strong, but the past five years have birthed a new generation of digital-first, platform-powered side gigs. These aren’t your usual boutique or barbering gigs — they’re born out of new tools, trends, and tech shifts. Whether you’re a student in Legon or a corporate worker in Dzorwulu, these 10 modern side hustles are fast becoming go-to income sources.
1. TikTok Influencing (Local Brand Deals)
Before 2020, TikTok was a dance app. Now? It’s a full-time income stream. Ghanaians like Erkuah Official and Asantewaa paved the way, but now even micro-creators with 5K–10K followers are landing local brand partnerships from skincare to small eateries.
2. Delivery Bike Reselling & Leasing
Entrepreneurs are buying dispatch bikes, leasing them to Bolt Food or Glovo riders, and flipping them for profit. Some are earning GHC 1,200+ monthly per bike through smart lease-to-own models.
3. Mobile POS Agents + Microloans
A 2025 twist on MoMo agents: POS agents now offer micro-loans via apps like Fido or Bloom, charging small service fees. This “agent-plus” model is booming in Kaneshie and Madina.
4. Content Repurposing for Celebrities
Some smart creatives are making money by editing and repurposing long interviews or livestreams for celebs and brands — turning raw footage into TikToks, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
5. Digital Product Resellers (PDFs, Ebooks, Canva Templates)
Ghanaians are creating or reselling design templates, lesson notes, CV templates, and financial planners on Telegram or WhatsApp — with mobile money as the primary checkout.
6. Telegram Channel Monetization
From job updates to gossip to forex tips, Telegram channels with 10K+ followers now charge for ads, job placements, and affiliate links. Some even get funding for social impact.
7. AirBNB Co-Hosting & Property Management
Without owning a home, Ghanaians now manage properties on Airbnb on behalf of landlords, taking a cut of bookings for handling check-ins, cleaning, and communication.
8. Local Drop Servicing
Imagine getting a website client in Tema and outsourcing the job to a freelancer in Nigeria. Ghanaians are acting as middlemen — marketing services (e.g., logos, websites) then outsourcing delivery.
9. Podcast Editing as a Service
With the podcast wave booming in Ghana, many hosts are outsourcing editing to side hustlers charging GHC 100–300 per episode.
10. WhatsApp TV Sellers + Affiliate Marketers
Beyond posting memes, these sellers are pushing everything from perfumes to sneakers, earning affiliate fees or small margins on each sale via WhatsApp groups with thousands of users.
💡 Why This List Matters
These side hustles are shaping a new digital middle class — part-time creators, agents, and freelancers who use smartphones and platforms to earn outside of 9–5 jobs. They’re low-barrier, scalable, and often youth-led.
