Accra Sports News confirms that Uruguayan forward Alvaro Rodriguez has officially completed a permanent move from Real Madrid to Elche CF, signing a four-year contract that runs until June 2029. Real Madrid, however, retains 50% of the player’s economic rights, indicating their continued interest in his future development.
This marks another exit from the Santiago Bernabéu following the recent departures of Luka Modric, Lucas Vázquez, and Jesús Vallejo. Rodriguez, 19, spent last season on loan at Getafe, but with limited first-team prospects at Madrid, he has opted to embrace a fresh challenge in La Liga with newly promoted Elche.
In an official statement, Elche announced: “Elche CF has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the permanent transfer of striker Alvaro Rodriguez. The Uruguayan becomes an Elche player and has signed until 2029.”

Rodriguez, affectionately nicknamed “El Toro”, will look to bolster Elche’s attacking line as the team returns to top-flight football under manager Eder Sarabia. The club sees him as a strategic long-term investment and a powerful addition to their frontline.
Speaking during his unveiling, Rodriguez expressed optimism: “It’s my moment,” said the forward, reflecting on his journey from Madrid’s youth ranks to this new opportunity. After joining Los Blancos’ academy in 2020 at age 16, Rodriguez made appearances for both Real Madrid Castilla and Getafe, scoring 3 goals and assisting once in 26 games last season.
While the move marks the end of his time in Madrid, the retained rights signal that the club will closely monitor his progress in La Liga. For Elche, it’s a bold step toward building a competitive squad capable of surviving and thriving in Spain’s top tier.
