🏢 Headquarters & History
Location: Mile 7 Junction, Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana
History: Peace FM was founded by Osei Kwame (Kwame Despite) on May 25, 1999 . Despite started as a petty trader selling music cassettes, padlocks, and feeding bottles at Dunkwa-Offinso, then fled to Lagos, Nigeria, returning to Ghana in 1983 with only a chainsaw machine and a cassette player . After his chainsaw was crushed by a falling tree, he returned to cassette trading and eventually built Peace FM to support Ghanaian music and culture .

The station’s experimentation with Akan-language broadcasting was revolutionary—it attracted listeners who wanted local content instead of English-only stations. The success led to the expansion of the Despite Group of Companies, now including Hello FM (Kumasi), OkayFM (Accra), Neat FM, UTV, Neat Foods, and Despite Stores .
