Chelsea announced on Wednesday through an official statement on social media the arrival of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap according to Bessocer News

Ipswich Town have had a poor season back in the Premier League, being relegated to the Championship the same year they returned to the top flight of English football.

However, Liam Delap has been one of the few players in the squad who has been able to shine in the domestic championship despite his team’s poor performances, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists in 40 games, which put him on the radars of the Premier League’s top clubs.

Chelsea were one of the teams that worked hardest on his signing until reaching an agreement with the Tractor Boys for their 22-year-old attacker, which has been confirmed on Wednesday by the Blues through their social networks.

Chelsea is delighted to announce the transfer of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, with the striker signing a contract until 2031,” reads the statement.

In this way, Enzo Maresca’s team is reinforced for the upcoming 2025 Club World Cup, which will be the first edition of this tournament after it was announced that 32 teams would participate in the new format.
