The J30 Accra – Tennis Foundation Ghana Open on the ITF World Tennis Junior Tour has reached the finals stage following an exciting week of competition involving some of the finest young talents from Ghana, Africa and beyond.

Singles Finals Are Set

The Boys’ Singles final will feature Ruoyu Hua of China 🇨🇳 against David Beckles of the USA 🇺🇸.

Hua Ruoyu booked his place in the final with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory over Seyi Ebenezer Ogunsakin of Nigeria 🇳🇬, while top seed David Beckles defeated his Indian opponent 6-1, 7-6(5) to secure his place in the championship match.

The Girls’ Singles final will be an all-African contest, with Gwendolyn Duvor Klu of Ghana 🇬🇭 facing Goodnews Eyinjuoluwa Aina of Nigeria 🇳🇬.

Defending Week 1 champion Gwendolyn defeated Shira Dvir of Israel 🇮🇱 6-3, 6-4, while Goodnews produced one of the most impressive performances of the tournament, overcoming Winner Gakpo of Togo 🇹🇬 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 after almost three hours of intense tennis.

Doubles Finals

The Boys’ Doubles final will see Denzell Darkey of Great Britain 🇬🇧 and Jeff Frimpong of Ghana 🇬🇭 take on Javier Montes Jimenez and Raul Sanchez Romero of Spain 🇪🇸.

Darkey and Frimpong reached the final after defeating Chukwuduben Amasiani of Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Yarden Shalom Gamliel of Israel 🇮🇱 7-6(4), 6-4.

The Spanish pair advanced with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over David Beckles of the USA 🇺🇸 and Seyi Ebenezer Ogunsakin of Nigeria 🇳🇬.

In the Girls’ Doubles final, Ghana’s Gwendolyn Duvor Klu 🇬🇭 and Winner Gakpo 🇹🇬 will face Goodnews Eyinjuoluwa Aina 🇳🇬 and Shira Dvir 🇮🇱.

Gwendolyn and Winner defeated Success Godwin 🇳🇬 and Morgan Hsu 🇹🇼 6-1, 6-2, while Goodnews and Shira advanced after a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Omoyinka Ayinia 🇳🇬 and Nenrot Suwa 🇳🇬.
